Monday Night Skate
Not for the faint of heart! This group of skaters meets every Monday night in San Francisco and skate a 10-15 mile course (varying from week to week) of extreme downhills. Tthey skate up (then down) the California Street hill, Franklin Street into the Marina , the Presidio, Twin Peaks, and Gough Street. They usually meet at the parking lot right outside of the Golden Gate Tennis Club (just up the Embarcadero from Justin Herman Plaza), though sometimes they meet in the Inner Sunset, depending on the route. There isn't currently a contact for this event, but if you email me, I'll let you know if the meeting spot isn't at the normal parking lot.

Wednesday Lunch Skate
A group that skates every Wednesday during lunch (roughly 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm), along the Embarcadero in San Francisco. Don't worry, they take it easy. :>) They meet at Justin Herman Plaza, near Embarcadero Center 4 across from the Ferry Building. For more information, e-mail Catherine at great_eskate@hotmail.com

Stanford W ednesday Night Skate
Another group of skaters that meet every Wednesday evening at Stanford. I haven't been able to find details on this skate yet, but I will post them when I do.

Friday Night Skate
This is another easy-going San Francisco skate. A large group of skaters (generally between 100 and 300 skaters) meets every Friday night and skate a 12-mile loop of San Francisco, with plenty of rest stops and skate trick areas. They meet at the plaza area between the Ferry Building and Justin Herman Plaza. They generally show up at about 8:00 pm and play music until just before 9:00 pm, and they head out then.

Sundays in Golden Gate Park
Every Sunday, About a two miles of JFK Drive is closed to motor vehicles. This closure also includes several smaller roads coming off JFK in the east end of the park, and runs from the east side to 19th Avenue. It is reopened at 5:00 pm or 6:00 pm, depending on whether it's Daylight Savings Time.
